Welcome to our trip blog.

Paul Santo and Donna von Lehe are headed around the world and you're invited.

This is our first experiment with blogging, so we'll have to see how it goes. If it becomes more chore than joy, it will be reflected in the length and frequency of our posts. For now, I have unreasonably optimistic hopes for the process.

We're on our way West and won't be back until we've been around the world. Total trip time -- a couple of months. Main destinations: Thailand, Cambodia, India, and the Czech Republic. We won't have a computer along, so our blogging will have to be done in internet cafes or hotel facilities. Since there are always more interesting and scenic places to sit and ponder the impact of our adventures than a sardine-spaced internet cafe, I'm going to try to get in the habit of notebook writing then doing quick retyping later on. You might get a week's worth of entries all at once.

This first entry is from Paul, but I'm hoping Donna will be involved in the blog too (though I haven't asked her yet). You see, Donna's adventure has already begun. She's in Seattle, visiting sisters. I'll meet her there on Tuesday, hang out in the Northwest for a week, then jump the Pacific and land in Bangkok. We're planning for a brief stay in Bangkok then up to Chang Mai for a week of Northern Thailand. I use the word "plan" loosely. As plans go, ours are pretty amorphous. That's what makes it an adventure!
